Statue of Emperor FJI in front of the entrance to the Czech Technical University

The author of the monument is the sculptor Metoděj Kocourek (5 July 1885 Želeč – 7 April 1975 Babice nad Svitavou), who created the statue during his military service (February to December 1915). The monument was probably unveiled in August 1915 for the Emperor's 85th birthday. A larger-than-life figure of the emperor stood on a brick plinth, the monument was placed in front of the entrance to the school building and surrounded by a park. The monument was definitely removed after 1918.

The information was clarified and photos of the monument were provided on 2 December 2008 by a reader of our encyclopedia, the great-grandson of the author of the statue, dr. Ondřej Horák.
