HOSPITAL

 

The hospital approved in 1908 was built without state subsidies.

At the beginning of 1900, the Okresní nemocenská pojišťovna in Semile submitted an application to the district committee for the establishment of a district hospital and duly justified the need for such an institution in its submission. The construction approval procedure on July 14, 1908 was led by the regional building council, based on the decision of the provincial committee. Jindřich Janata. The district council did not receive any state subsidy for the construction of the hospital, all costs were covered by a loan provided by the State Bank of the Kingdom of the Czech Republic in Prague, a donation from the Občanská zálazna in Semile, and to a small extent from some charitable funds administered by the district council. ​

Before the ceremonial opening of the hospital, a commemorative plaque measuring 142 x 80 cm was ordered from the artist sculptor Josef Řehák in Turnov for the entrance to the main building of the hospital. of the plans drawn up by the Chief Land Engineer Václav Heller, that the construction was started in the spring of 1906, completed and handed over to its purpose on September 28, 1908. the commemorative record listed the names of all the members of the district committee at the time of the start and completion of the construction and added that the municipality of the town of Semil donated all the necessary land for free, and the Civic Savings Bank in Semile contributed 40,000 crowns to the construction.
