Memorial stone of Emperor FJ I from 1908<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

And\u011blka (Engelsdorf) is a village belonging to the Vi\u0161\u0148ov\u00e1 municipality in the Liberec district. It is located about 4 km northwest of Vi\u0161\u0148ov\u00e1. It lies less than a kilometer from the Polish border.<\/p>\n

I found a photo of the memorial stone of Emperor FJI in And\u011blka on the website www.frydlantsko.com, which is run by \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Mr. Ing. Rostislav Jel\u00ednek. He was kind enough to give me permission to use unique postcards for his website. The detail of the commemorative stone is from a cut-out from the postcard Gruss aus Engelsdorf i B.<\/p>\n

Further information about this monument was provided by Mr. G. Krause from Fr\u00fddlant in Bohemia, who very willingly sent me a translation of a paragraph from the newspaper Friedl\u00e4nder Heimatbrief:<\/p>\n

\"On August 30, 1908 or December 2, 1908, the memorial stone was dedicated and unveiled by the owner of the Zum Lohnberg inn, Wilhelm Kretschmer from no. 88. Nothing is known about the further fate of the memorial stone\"<\/em><\/p>\n

In the search for a memorial stone in And\u011blka, a major breakthrough occurred in July 2015. As part of the \u010cernousy event described in the piece about \u010cernousy, I was contacted by Mr. and Mrs. Morozov from And\u011blka. Coincidentally, in July 2015 I was planning a trip along the Fr\u00fddlant ridge, so I arranged to visit the Morozovs in And\u011blka. Even before that, I sent them a photo of the memorial stone. The enlarged photo of the memorial stone shows a part of the house with two chimneys. According to these two chimneys, Ms. Morozov clearly identified the place where the memorial stone stood. Only the house behind the bus stop in And\u011blka, which is right next to the house of the Morozovs, has two chimneys.<\/p>\n

So I dare to say in layman's terms that the memorial stone of Emperor FJI stood in And\u011blka exactly at the place of today's bus stop. The stout beech tree behind the stop certainly remembers him.<\/p>\n
