\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Torso of Emperor FJI Monument.<\/h1>\n

Horn\u00ed Maxov is currently part of the town of Lu\u010dany nad Nisou in the Jablonec nad Nisou district.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In 1908, the Jubilee Park was established in the village as part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Francis Joseph I. On August 16, 1908, a four-meter high granite obelisk was erected in the park. The plate made of black polished granite bore an inscription with which the inhabitants of Horn\u00ed Maxov showed their gratitude to the ruler. After the creation of Czechoslovakia, this monument was transformed into a memorial to the victims of World War I.<\/p>\n

The first postcard shows the most important buildings of Horn\u00ed Maxov: the church, the post office, the school and the Gebirgshof am Jubil\u00e4umspark inn. On the right next to the church is a monument to Emperor Francis Joseph I from 1908.

The buildings of the school and the former Raiffeisen bank were gradually rebuilt into the Maxov House. The Jubilee Park was transformed into the garden of the Home. It still houses the torso of the monument to Emperor FJI and, after the creation of the Czech Republic, the monument to the fallen. Mr. Otokar Simm sent me a photo of the monument to the fallen, which replaced the monument to Emperor FJI. It is a very rare photograph. On the monument was a plaque with the inscription:<\/p>\n

\"In memory of the sons of the village of Horn\u00ed Maxov and those who died in the World War 1914-1918.<\/p>\n

Even this monument has not been preserved.<\/p>\n
