Emperor FJI's visit. in Jesen\u00edk on July 29, 1860<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

On Sunday, July 29, 1860, Emperor FJI arrived. at Gr\u00e4fenberg to visit the Bavarian King Maximilian II, who was here for treatment. In 1898 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Emperor FJI's reign. the headmaster of the girls' school and museum curator Adolf Kettner proposed to the \"Association for the Promotion of the Foreign Movement\" that a commemorative plaque commemorating the monarch's visit be placed on house No. 68 in the square. Although the proposal was accepted, it was not implemented until 1908, on the day of the monarch's jubilee, December 2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The memorial plaque made of marble is 178 cm high with a maximum width of 125 cm surmounted by an imperial crown with two festoons. In the center is a bronze portrait of the emperor modeled by Paul Stadler from Sup\u00edkovice. Inscription<\/p>\n

it is supplemented with the city coat of arms and the coat of arms of the Habsburgs with the name of the founder.<\/p>\n

After the incorporation of the city into the Czechoslovak Republic under state law, in 1919 it was decided to remove the plaque. It was given to prelate J. Neugebauer at the rectory, where it survived all the turbulent times before being transferred to the museum in the Water Fortress in 1994.<\/p>\n
