Jubilee Stone Unveiled in 1908 to Celebrate Emperor FJI's 60th Reign and Unveiling of Replica Plaque on 15 August 2015<\/p>\n

Ji\u0159et\u00edn pod Jedlovou (Sankt Georgenthal) is a village on the northern side of the Lusatian Mountains, in the D\u011b\u010d\u00edn district, in the \u00dast\u00ed Region. Near the village are the ruins of Tol\u0161tejn Castle and the third highest peak of the Lusatian Mountains, Jedlov\u00e1.\n\u200b<\/p>\n

On March 2, 1908, in honor of the 60th anniversary of Emperor FJI's reign, the \"Jubilee Stone\" and \"Jubilee Fountain\" were unveiled in the square near the Church of the Holy Trinity. An \"Imperial Oak\" was planted near the jubilee stone. The postcard comes from the collection of Mr. Ji\u0159\u00ed Rosol. I thank him for agreeing to use this unique item.\n\u200b<\/p>\n

Here, too, the commemorative plaque was removed in 1923. However, the stone plinth with the frame has remained in place to this day. This was noticed by the members of the Union of Military Veterans of the Czech Crown Countries and in cooperation with the management of the Ji\u0159et\u00edn pod Jedlov\u00fa municipality, with the contribution of EU subsidies, on August 15, 2015, they ceremoniously unveiled the renewed commemorative plaque of the emperor. The mighty hundred-year-old oak has overcome human hatred and malice, and after the re-installation of the commemorative plaque, it can once again commemorate the important jubilee of our ruler. Not so restored plaque. Someone damaged it in an attempt to steal it, so it had to be replaced with an engraved plastic replacement.<\/p>\n

The jubilee fountain is still in the reservoir under the church. As it is written on the website www.vyslo\u017eivci.cz, special thanks for the dedicated work on the implementation of the event are due to Mr. Ji\u0159\u00ed Suchard and the mayor of Ji\u0159et\u00edn pod Jedlov\u00e1, Mr. Josef Zoser, who, despite many difficulties, brought the project to a successful end.\n\u200b<\/p>\n

For the sake of completeness, I must write that on the same day, the \"Veterans\" also unveiled a memorial plaque to fallen soldiers in the First World War at the local cemetery according to their own project.<\/p>\n
