The Emperor Franz Josef spring is now called the Svoboda spring<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The spring, originally called L\u00e1ze\u0148sk\u00fd, was discovered during the excavation of the foundations of the new L\u00e1ze\u0148sk\u00e9 dom (L\u00e1zn\u00ed III) in the early sixties of the 18th century on the left bank of the river Tepl\u00e1 in the middle of the city of Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad). The thermal water was captured by the spring bell and brought out into the space between the new spa house and the St. Bernard under Bernard's rock. After 1891, a wooden gazebo was built above the source of the spring. Until 1918, the spring bore the name of Emperor Franz Joseph I (Franz Joseph-Quelle). In 1946, the spring was named Svoboda.<\/p>\n

Object description
\nAn open octagonal wooden columned arbor decorated with wood carving, covered by a flat tinned roof with a central octagonal cupola with slate covering and an open wooden octagonal post lantern surmounted by an octagonal tinned belfry with a banner at the top. The gazebo is walk-through, only four sides are filled with fields of carved wooden railings between the columns. At the beginning of the 20th century, some fields between the columns were provided with trellises and overgrown with climbing plants. In the second half of the 20th century, the opposite field in the direction of the approach from the river was filled with an illusory wooden wall backdrop. The floor of the gazebo is made of polished granite slabs and bordered by profiled granite steps. In the center of the gazebo is a spring vase with the spring of Svoboda.\n\u200b<\/p>\n
