Restored monument to those who died in the Prussian-Austrian War of 1866 with a relief of Emperor FJI.<\/h1>\n

Nov\u00e1 Ves v Hor\u00e1ch is a border mountain village in the Ore Mountains in the Most district about 15 km northwest as the crow flies from the town of Most. The village is located on the northwestern border with Germany, which is formed here by the stream Sv\u00eddnice, behind which lies the village of Deutschneudorf.<\/p>\n

On September 27, 2010, a ceremonial unveiling of the reconstructed war memorial and its surroundings took place on Vy\u0161ina. In very unfavorable weather, Mrs. PhDr. Libu\u0161e Pokorn\u00e1, director of the Regional Museum in Most, a speech about the history of this monument. I will mention some data about this monument. In documents written in German, it is referred to as the \"Mikulovice War Memorial\", which was built by the Association of War Veterans in memory of three Mikulovic men who fell in the Prussian-Austrian battle near Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9 in 1866. The actual monument was built in 1898 and on September 11 the same year he was solemnly ordained. The year 1898 was not chosen by chance, because in this year the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Francis Joseph I took place. The German inscription on the monument reminds us of this event, in translation it reads:<\/p>\n

\"In permanent memory of the glorious reign and at the same time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reign of His Majesty, our noble and beloved Emperor Francis Joseph I..\"\n\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1906, a triangular park was built around the monument and the monument was surrounded by an iron chain fence. After the Second World War, the plaques with the inscriptions were removed, as was the ball on top of the monument. Only one Latin inscription remained here: \"VIRIBUS UNITIS\" (With united forces) which was the royal motto of Francis Joseph I. I would like to remind you that a similar monument also stood in Mn\u00ed\u0161ek. So much for history.\n\u200b
\nThe current monument is an exact copy of the original monument, already badly damaged by time and bad weather. The author of the new sandstone monument is the sculptor Bartolomej \u0160t\u011brba from Kozojed near Pilsen, who personally participated in its erection in our village. The costs were covered from the municipal budget and thanks to the contribution of the European Union, SZIF.\n\u200b
\nAfter the already mentioned speech by Mrs. Pokorn\u00e1, it was time for a demonstration of the group in historical uniforms, the highlight of the ceremony was supposed to be a cannon shot, but unfortunately this salvo was made impossible by heavy rain and wind. After several failed attempts, the soldiers replaced the cannon shot with several rifle shots. The whole celebration was finished with a guard of honor at the new monument. J. Pe\u0161ir<\/p>\n
